Master Plan
The Cullowhee River Club is designed as a mountain haven for individuals and families of all ages, casually elegant and deliberately lacking in the elitism and pretension typical to other upscale club communities. The community offers a variety of residential properties including cottages, cabins, townhomes, and condominiums. The recreational amenities and active community programming will make this community a memorable family gathering place for generations to come. A significant benefit to the residents is access to the resort-style amenities and recreational experiences usually limited to private club communities, with one important distinction: there are no club initiation fees or club dues here!
Phases 1, 2A, and 2B Are Open!
See Phase Illustrations Below
Tuckasegee River
The Tuckasegee River is the heart of the land surrounding the Cullowhee River Club. The core of the community is purposely developed adjacent to this acclaimed resource, widely known for its superior trout fishing and inclusion in the Western Carolina Fly Fishing Trail. The river is also popular with paddlers who enjoy kayaking and rafting its scenic route. Of course, simply sitting back and watching the river traffic is also an interesting past-time.
Grand River Lodge
If the Tuckasegee River is the heart of the land, then the Grand River Lodge will be the heart of the community. With river-view indoor and outdoor dining, the Lodge Restaurant will provide casual dining experiences and will be the perfect venue for meetings and events. The Grand River Lodge will also include a resort-style swimming pool and Har-Tru tennis courts.
River Park
Whether a kid-friendly romp on the playground or a grown-up picnic in the River Park Pavilion, you’ll be inspired by this peaceful setting adjacent to the Tuckasegee River. Envision sitting in rocking chairs at the Pavilion in early morning sipping coffee, or in late afternoon sipping a glass of your favorite wine. The riverside fire pit is the perfect spot to relax with neighbors and friends. Residents can also reserve the Pavilion for a riverside wedding, a reception or special event. If you're a paddle enthusiast you can launch your kayak, canoe or raft from the riverside boat launch. Just watching and listening to the river flow by and doing nothing is also highly recommended.
Boat House & Boat Ramp
Ready to go on a whim, boat racks are rented monthly through the Property Owners Association on a first come, first serve basis. The Lodge restaurant will be glad to prepare boxed lunches for boating expeditions.
Trail System
Because 60% of the land surrounding the Cullowhee River Club will be perpetually protected open space placed in a conservation easement, the community will have groomed hiking and biking trails for its residents to enjoy. The trails will also connect to the planned Jackson County Greenway Trail System.
